World Cup: Update

The Spanish pair consisting of the suave and sophisticated Pablo Larrazabal and the pony-tail ridden Miguel Angel Jimenez have built up a commanding four stroke lead at the end of the day’s play at the golf World Cup in China.

Five birdies and an eagle along the front nine sent the duo on their way in the foursomes, as they ended the day 17-under par.

Germany and Australia are both tied for second, with Sweden five off the lead in fourth ahead of the United States and Ireland pair Paul McGinley and Graeme McDowell.

Scotland’s title defence faltered after a 73 that leaves them 17th. England are tied for 19th while Wales prop up the pack in last place.

You may recall me backing England before the event. I’d love to say that my ‘tip’ was merely a typo and that I actually meant to say Spain, but instead, i’ll just advise you all to never to listen to me again!

Saying that, if for some bizarre reason you do fancy putting a few quid on England, you can now get odds of 999/1 with Betfair!

Spain are understandably the odds-on favourites to win the event, best priced at 5/6 with Paddy Power.

Literally am stunned by your description of Miguel Angel Jimenez as ‘pony-tail ridden’. Who are you?

Ha! how can you describe him as anything other than ‘ridden’ with that terrible pony tail?!
