About

Hello and welcome to The Caddy,

First off, let’s take a quick look at the ‘fountain of all knowledge’ Wikipedia – what, or who, exactly is the caddy?

Well…

In golf, a caddy (or caddie) is the person who carries a player’s bag, and gives insightful advice and moral support. A good caddy is aware of the challenges and obstacles of the golf course being played, along with the best strategy in playing it. This includes knowing overall yardage, pin placements and club selection.

So there we have it!

My name is Stefan Curtis and i have set up this site as a place for Golf enthusiasts to come and take a look around. I would describe myself as a ‘keen’ golfer, but at present i do not have a handicap (apart from my putting…) but it is certainly something i am aiming for.

There is such a wide range of subjects to discuss in the Golfing world and my aim is to give everything a bit of coverage: For starters, the amateur game, then we have the Pro game. What’s in your bag? (What’s in my bag?!). Top courses, hidden courses, nasty courses… The gear you wear and the balls you use, we’ll discuss it all.

I will also be setting up an ‘improve your game’ section, where (hopefully) visitors will feel comfortable sending in video’s (via youtube) of their swing, and a brief explaination of their problem (be it slicing, topping, or just missing the ball completely..) I will then expect other visitors to point out what they perceive the problem to be, and we’ll see if it has an affect!

I think that covers everything for now, so just enjoy the site!
