Rate The Courses

This is your point of reference if you are on the look out for top courses around the UK and beyond.

There are obviously hundreds and thousands of courses out there, but it’s always useful to know what state the greens are likely to be in, what the drainage facilities are like and so on.

Here are a few of the courses that I have played, and can give an honest assessment of:

Review: Smart casual dress standards both on the course and in the clubhouse. Well kept and recognised as a very good club.

Review: The most northerly course in Wales, spectacularly laid out across Anglesey’s rugged coastline, offering panoramic views of Snowdonia.

Review: Signature hole on this course is the short par-4 9th, slice your ball off the elevated cliff top tee and it’s a big hello to the awaiting English Channel!

Review: Offers an unusual mix of parkland and links-style holes covering just under 6,000 yards.

Review: Fantastic views of London are on offer here, littered with higly challenging, devilishly tricky holes. Will test every aspect of your game, and well worth a visit.

Review: Tight rolling fairways flanked by heather and mature pine, you’ll need to use your brain for this one. A memorable round usually finishes with a challenging 180-yard par 3.

Review: Plenty of pedigree as well as natural charm. You’ll be greeted by narrow fairways, especially at the par-4 15th.

Review: Stone has hosted many prestigious golf events, including Several Staffordshire County fixtures and matches. Nice course with friendly staff, well worth a visit.

Review: A course in harmony with its surroundings the International Course offers the perfect balance between a golfing challenge and the natural aesthetics of the superb Midlands location.

Review: This is one of the most beautifully kept pay and play courses you will find in the area. As it is family run the welcome is always warm and you can see the pride they take as you progress around the course.

Review: A favourite of Lee Westwood’s. The course tests all aspects of the game, particularly your course management. Lots of tricky holes, but if it’s good enough for Lee, then it’s good enough for you

    I have played at The Vale Golf Club and I rate it as one of my favourite courses, the International course is both challenging and rewarding! Thanks for the info about Perrenporth, it’s a course i do want to play!

    Perranporth is awesome, i go with my mates several times a year. Love it.
